Yesterday was an exciting day for an Erie Alum and Family. Kyle Leahy and the Mesa State Mavericks Baseball earned an invitation to the Division II World Series. This is only the third time in the school’s history they will be playing in the tournament.
Kyle Leahy got the start in the final game where the Mavericks defeated Arkansas-Fort Smith 8-1. With the win Leahy pushed his record to 13-0 on the year and was named the tournaments Most Outstanding Player. Only a sophomore, there are big things in store for the Leahy family!
Aside from the athletic accomplishments that Kyle has earned this year, his biggest accolades have come from the classroom. Kyle Leahy was named the 2017 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Baseball Academic Player of the Year. He currently holds a 4.0 GPA.
As all of our past and current Erie Tigers……..we are extremely proud of you and you continue to amaze us!
