Please see the letter below from Matt Buchler, Erie HS Principal, regarding the hire of the new Athletic Director/Assistant Principal at Erie High School:
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Thank you for your ongoing support of the students, teachers and staff of Erie High School. As many of you know, Mr. Wildenhaus is resigning at the end of this year and we appreciate his investment in our students and programs at Erie High School. We wish him the best on his future endeavors in Ohio.
After an extensive search, I am pleased to inform you that a recommendation will be made to the Board of Education that Mr. Justin Carpenter be hired as the new athletic director and assistant principal of Erie High School. This was a highly sought after position with many strong candidates – a testament to the reputation and strength of the Erie High community and St. Vrain Valley Schools.
For the past three years, Mr. Carpenter has served as the Arvada High School Athletic Director / Assistant Principal. Prior to his administrative role in Arvada, Mr. Carpenter served as a classroom teacher within Weld County and the Aurora Public School District. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Exercise Science. He also has a Masters degree from the American College of Education in Educational Leadership. Mr. Carpenter has extensive experience in secondary level leadership, professional development and promotion of school athletics.
Once the appointment has received final approval by the Board of Education, you and your family will be invited to meet Mr. Carpenter at a school reception later this spring. Mr. Carpenter is extremely excited to join our community of Erie Tigers.
I want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in our selection process, and if you have any questions or would like to know more about the hiring process, please contact me directly.
